This plan also includes traveling with Rick and Pat — family forged through years, not lineage. This is simply another journey to add to the many we’ve already shared, and one more chapter in the story of a life walked together.
There is a plan — but we are holding it loosely. This journey is open to changes, detours, and whatever the road decides to offer. The only hard stops are simple: begin in Lisbon, take the train to Porto, and fly home from Bilbao. Everything in between is about sightseeing, the journey, and the experience itself.
If the Camino has taught me anything before it even begins, it’s this: plans are helpful, but they aren’t the point. The point is showing up each day, taking the next step, and trusting that the path will reveal what comes next.
