Expectations…
In my head, this is going to be a peaceful, life-changing walk. Challenging, sure—but completely doable. I’ll take in the scenery, have meaningful thoughts, and come home with nothing but great memories and a slightly deeper perspective on life.
In reality, I’ll be lost in a small Portuguese town, questioning every decision that led me here. My feet will be filing formal complaints, and my body will be loudly reminding me that I am no longer 30…or 40…or even close.
