Final Day in Lisbon

First—this city is not flat. Not even a little.  Between the hills, the stairs, and the cobblestone streets, I’m pretty sure Lisbon is preparing us for the Camino.
Wow, all pain aside… this place is beautiful.  It was the perfect final day to explore. A nice breeze, sunny skies, music everywhere-perfect in every way, including the people who were kind, accommodating, and very enjoyable.
During May, the vacation season is gearing up-not yet in full swing.
Lisbon is charming, its history-incredible, and as described —a beautiful city. But then… there it is.  A massive cruise ship, parked along the river —-mixing the old with the new.
It’s hard to ignore. Sitting against the backdrop of centuries-old buildings and narrow, winding streets, it feels almost out of place—like something from another world dropped into a city that has been carefully holding onto its past….it’s what we call progress, but it feels so out of place.
